  • Networking events are a great place to practice your mingling skills. Small talk is POWERFUL and builds connection and community. Tonight's social at Red Rock Country Club was classy and relaxed. A great combination. The more you practice, the easier it gets. Go be social! #ElevatingEtiquette www.ElevatingEtiquette.com

Saw a lot of familiar faces tonight at the Red Rock Country Club! The 99th Air Base Wing Command team was in the house. David Radcliffe from the NST. Quote a few congressional staff and more.. A sincere THANK YOU to James "JD" Daniels for the invitation to tonight's event. It was a nice evening with great company!

Most people focus on their visual image - how they look, but they also neglect their vocal image - how they sound. The truth is, people make judgements and beliefs about you not just based on how you look, but also how you sound. If you don't work on your vocal image, you may be creating perceptions about you that you don't intend.

Are you aware of what your VOCAL image says about you? Most people only focus on their VISUAL image - which is how they look. However people are making assumptions about you purely based on your voice such as how confident you are, do you believe in what you say, are you connected to your emotions... and the list goes on. If you truly want to develop better communication skills in your life, it starts by becoming aware of your vocal image! If you're new to my page, click the link in my bio for my FREE 3 part video series where I show you a powerful self-awareness technique to help you improve your vocal image 😎

  • Have you ever thought of the speed of your conversation? You probably have not. Just as in formal dining, where we should be mindful of our speed of eating/dining (not faster or slower than the host/hostess or other guests), we should do the same in business presentations and meetings. Recently, I have been teaching a lot of online business courses. One of my current modules is "C-Suite Communication." I talk about how we should prepare and hold ourselves when speaking to senior leaders. One of the topics within that module last week was "Speed of Conversation." For myself, I am a fast talker, and I have to consciously slow my speed of speech down when presenting or speaking to others. It takes practice and awareness and being willing to receive feedback from friends and co-workers. For our message to be heard properly, we must adjust to the needs of our audience. So for today, think about your speed of speech. You may need to speed up a bit, slow down, expand more or learn to truly listen to the questions being asked. Remember: - Adjust to your audience - Be aware of your speed of speech - Practice, and record yourself so you can truly see how you come across. In the photo, which person are you? Be honest! Keep being awesome. www.ElevatingEtiquette.com

  • I think I may hold an etiquette class here in the near future....etiquette is NOT just for formal dining. @elevatingetiquette.com

I spent time this afternoon with Sydney Knott-Cunningham, owner of Horses4Heroes Las Vegas (The Ranch Las Vegas) talking to her about a J9/@Nevada National Guard event this fall. I always feel at home when I'm surrounded by dogs, horses and animals (yes, I love fine dining AND farms!)....Sydney and her husband have an amazing facility and so many great programs for military, first responders and children! To all my Southern Nevada Veteran Community (and Veteran supporters)...remember, we can hold events at their location! We can help others understand and build mindfulness by understanding and spending time with animals and just being outdoors. This weekend, I am going to sign up on their website and get on the volunteer list. And I plan to become a familiar face at their ranch. I hope you do the same. Check out all the cool 4-legged friends I met today (some had only 2 legs...). I love Las Vegas. Happy Friday, everyone!

  • What an awesome experience last weekend at the Women's Veterans of Nevada Conference at Aliante Casino! Drew helped me capture my presentation, and he made it all SO easy, and I am very grateful. I had an absolute blast teaching a power skills session to some of the attendees and speaking about one of my favorite topics...etiquette! Thank you, Drew!!

This past Saturday was awesome! I had the honor of capturing the powerful keynote talk by Desiree Broussard at the Women Veterans Conference held at the Aliante Hotel Casino in Las Vegas. 🎤 It was awesome to finally work with Desiree and meet her in person! Desiree's keynote not only shed light on her remarkable military career but also delved into her inspiring transition into entrepreneurship with her etiquette consulting business. She has an awesome motto "respect is universal, and etiquette is the language of respect." It was truly a privilege to document such an entertaining and educational talk, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to amplify Desiree's voice and story. Here's to celebrating the strength and accomplishments of women veterans and entrepreneurs like Desiree! #WomenVeterans #Empowerment #education #InspiringJourneys #AlianteHotelCasino #lasvegas #speaker #keynote #event #conference #videocoverage
