In recognition of last week's Earth Day and our commitment to sustainability, today we announced our pledge to plant over 10,000 trees in collaboration with the National Forest Foundation (NFF), the official non-profit partner of the USDA Forest Service, during the annual Battle Born Batteries Earth Day Sale which took place last week, April 22 through 26. According to the National Forest Foundation, America’s forests are the most efficient natural systems for pulling carbon dioxide (CO2) out of the atmosphere, with U.S. Forests sequestering up to 15% of the country’s CO2 emissions annually. Natural disturbances, however, continue to affect National Forests each year, with wildfires, insects, drought, and disease – all exacerbated by climate change – causing deforestation. By planting trees, NFF and companies like Dragonfly Energy are helping to restore these public lands and ensure that our forests can continue to sequester CO2, provide a habitat for wildlife, and mitigate the effects of climate change. https://bit.ly/3y7M3JW

"Amidst the pandemic, we saw crisis cut both ways. At times, it served to strengthen existing brand loyalties while also catalyzing new ones. In other instances, it pushed customers farther away than ever, creating what appeared to be insurmountable challenges. Different leaders viewed the pandemic either as a challenge or an opportunity, and those who did the latter seized the chance to innovate around everything from supply chain management to customer targeting to corporate culture." Airstream CEO Bob Wheeler sat down with Forbes this week to discuss how Airstream used the pandemic to drive lasting growth. Read the full article below!

As we head into the final hours of the Battle Born Batteries Earth Day Sale, hear what Dragonfly Energy Chief Marketing Officer, Tyler Bourns, had to say on KOLO-TV 8 News Now ABC about planting 10 trees in partnership with the National Forest Foundation for every battery sold during this sales event. According to the National Forest Foundation, our forests are the most efficient natural systems for pulling carbon dioxide (CO2) out of the atmosphere. By planting trees, we are proud to help NFF restore public lands and ensure that our forests can continue to sequester CO2, provide a habitat for wildlife, and mitigate the effects of climate change.

This Earth Day, we are partnering with the National Forest Foundation to plant 10 trees for every Battle Born Battery sold to retail customers from Monday, April 22, through Friday, April 26, during our Earth Day Sale. The National Forest Foundation focuses on planting trees in National Forests to help ensure our forests stay healthy for future generations. According to the foundation, planting trees offers these benefits: ✓ Reforestation improves forest health by planting the right species in the right places, helping to make forests more resilient to future challenges like climate change and wildfire. ✓ Trees hold and purify water and stabilize soils, helping creeks and rivers run clear—important for the thousands of communities that depend on our National Forests for their water supply. ✓ Trees convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and remove harmful pollutants from the air, acting as natural air filters. ✓ A single tree planted in a National Forest can store a half-ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime, helping mitigate global climate change and increasing the carbon storage potential of our forests. ✓ National Forests hold thousands of species of wildlife in complex ecosystems. Post-disturbance reforestation enhances habitat while providing structural diversity for wildlife. ✓ Disturbances can sometimes be so severe that they affect a forest’s ability to regenerate for decades to come. Replanting helps re-establish a seed source for future regeneration. ✓ Taking a walk in a National Forest provides exercise, reduces stress, and improves overall mood. Reforestation helps ensure our forests can provide you with the space to tune in to nature and tune out the worries. ✓ Reforestation improves the quality of experience for the 160 million Americans who play on National Forests each year. Dragonfly Energy’s patented dry electrode battery manufacturing process has been validated as easily scalable, more cost-effective, and more sustainable than the state-of-the-art technology currently available in the market through an assessment conducted by Sphere Energy. The Cost & Sustainability Assessment compares conventional manufacturing methods to our domestic battery manufacturing, with results highlighting significant improvements in our patented, chemistry agnostic process, including: ✔ No toxic NMP solvent required ✔ 22% smaller factory area requirements ✔ 25% less energy-intense production process ✔ 9% reduced carbon footprint for total cell manufacturing ✔ ~5% savings on process-related costs The dry electrode battery manufacturing process we employ uses a patented spray coating technology to adhere anode and cathode electrodes, eliminating the need for large, energy-intensive equipment such as slurry coaters, conveyor dryers, and NMP processing equipment. https://lnkd.in/gZvDTbKM
