At Lift to Literacy, I help students achieve reading proficiency at or above grade level standards, so that they can be prepared to be successful learners, without needing to struggle. I help children close the reading gap and become confident, fluent readers — using my signature Lift to Literacy program, a small-group system designed to boost phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension in just 12 weeks. I have extensive knowledge and experience working with children on IEPs as well.
This isn’t another app or worksheet. It’s targeted, expert-led support that meets your children right where they are — and lifts them to where they need to be.

💻 100% online. Taught live in small groups by me, a certified reading specialist.
All lessons take place on Zoom and are recorded. That way, you or the children can rewatch a lesson, if you need a recap, or in the event that your child has to be absent, the lesson is available to watch at another time.
My background: I began teaching middle and high school English in 1986 in Sacramento, CA., and quickly discovered that too many of my students were unable to read on grade level. As a teacher, I struggled to meet the needs of my students, so I went back to school and earned my master’s in education from California State University, Sacramento, with a concentration in language and literacy acquisition and development. I earned my reading specialist’s credential at the same time. For several years I worked with struggling readers at the elementary level, until my school district pulled me from the classroom to coach and train teachers how to teach reading. I was then hired to train and coach reading teachers throughout California, for many years. I ended my career in K-12 education after serving as a principal at two elementary schools for my last 12 years in public school education.
